One of the very good things about this group is that there are members from all over the world and personally I think it adds considerably to my appreciation of the photographs to know the general area where people are living, e.g. I live in the East Midlands of the UK (think Robin Hood Country). This prompts me to make an appeal for folk to include in their profile location information, it need not be too specific, I would not expect anyone to make public their address, but a little more than simply their country although that would be better than nothing! The overriding principal should always be personal safety of course and nobody should feel pressurised to do this.
I live in inner city Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, although I am currently travelling in the northern hemisphere, currently in Canada. Week 7 of a 9 week trip. I like the idea of knowing more about where people live and where people's photos are taken.
I live on the eastern side of the state of Pennsylvania, USA near a point in the Delaware River (which divides Pennsylvania from the state of New Jersey) called the Delaware Water Gap- a zig-zag section of river and mountains carved out by glacial activity and in a region called the Poconos. It's a beautiful area with many forests and waterfalls but also plagued with a lot of people moving out from New York City to escape the crime and violence there. So it's both busy and beautiful!
Although, originally from the UK, I now spend increasingly more time abroad. Currently in Bulgaria for the past 12 months. Spring & Summers here are incredibly hot and sunny. Ironically, what I miss most about the UK are the dramatic clouds that really bring out drama in photographs. Where I am based (NE Bulgaria) mainly clear blue-skies!
Tragic - I know!
Here’s what I put in my profile: “I've lived in the middle part of the USA (SW Illinois) for over 30 years, with time previously in Washington DC area, central North Carolina, western Pennsylvania and West Virginia.”
I didn’t note that we do travel a bit, and you’ll see that reflected in my photos. But I try to note those locations in the photos.
I live in a suburb of Sacramento, the capital of California, USA. It is about midway between the Pacific Ocean and the Sierra Nevadas and Lake Tahoe. I live in a Senior Community in a town which seems to be building more and more senior communities as people from the Bay Area (aka Silicon Valley) move here to retire.
I'm in Cumbria, England - and I too would wish that people put where they are from in their profiles. Also, people from the US - please don't assume that we know what your state abbreviations are! JA Byrdlip as above could be in Western Australia for all I know!
Midland,Michigan, USA…about at the halfway (north-south) point of the lower peninsula and about 20miles from the Saginaw Bay, which is formed by the “thumb” of the Michigan mitten:)
Good morning and thankyou for that lovely invitation. We arrive in Toronto on Saturday 2nd May and leave on 5th May. I have c commitment for 3rd May but otherwise flexible. My email address is in my profile. @summerfield@30pics4jackiesdiamond
I originate from Grantham home of ( Sir Isaac Newton) in Lincolnshire England and when I married moved to live in Peterborough in Cambridgeshire on the Edge of the Fens.
@allsop I usually _try_ to put somesort of location in the tags of the picture. I know that there are sometimes GPS data in the EXIF of the pictures, so there are times you can precisely locate where the photo was taken. (at least the drone pictures has GPS in them, but I don't think they show up here)
I was born and grew up in Southern California in Pacific Palisades, a suburb of Los Angeles. I moved to Northern California when I got married and now live in the county of Sacramento, California.

Thank you to all who have added their location since my last update, it is great to know where you all are in the world, again if I have missed anyone out please forgive me.
I am sure you have already done so but if not please add this information to your profile then we can easily look it up. Thanks once again.
@byrdlip is practically my neighbor. I live in Seattle.
It was cool reading this post and seeing all the different places people who use this site live. I've always appreciated that this website is so international, and I can have a look through all of your lenses at different parts of the world.
My first trip to your country.

The Interbay frieght yard is still on my bucket list. Seattle just isn't high on my list of places to go. (ever since the T-Bird moved)
