3rd March 2013

Today we decided to explore some accessible walks in the jungle and I was fully expecting to be posting a photograph of the Robinson waterfall.

However, on route we discovered a truly amazing sight of a trail of 'damp-wood' termites travelling some 30 metres or so (at least that's as far as we could see) in a continuous column 5-8 insects wide, moving along branches, cables and tree roots.

It was mesmerising to watch as each carried a large load about the quarter of the size of the termite of what I suppose must be chewed wood? So, apologies for anyone of a delicate disposition but it really was an impressive sight!
Now I can see the interest, but it's made me scratch just a little bit!! great shot though!

Yikes, the poor trees in their area.

Lost you in the shuffle. So now a big catch up and a vicarious living thru your travel. Like the way you composed the walkathon - the curving sweep of line. Makes it look like action - onward and upward.

@nicolaeastwood @danette @helixconcepts @pam1 Thank you, now I am looking at it some time later, it does look quite 'crawly'!
