One of my treasured posessions is a Tupperware box more than 30 years old. In it are hundreds of buttons I inherited from my Grandmother. Just occasionally I open it and explore. I always find something I had not noticed before and something to think about.

That's so sweet! Love the idea of inheriting a box of buttons. I must make sure my hundreds of buttons are kept somewhere safe, too. Love the pic. Great focus and good mix of different styles.
I have a little tin of buttons that I've collected for over 30 years. My mother's collection is more impressive like your grandma's. Great photo of them.
The older buttons that were around in the old days are always the best as they were made to last! The ones that are around now aren't so much valuable, but cheaply made and don't last long enough to mean anything.
Awesome...I too have a box full of buttons I collect....I don't know how it started but one day I found all these buttons in several drawers and I decided it was time that they be together so I put them in this box with compartments....they are in size order... SML, MED, LRG...yes I'm a bit of a neat compulsive! Great photo!
thank you for this shot, I had forgotten the please I used to get sorting through my mum's button jar and my Nanna's button box. My grandmother was a tailor and my mum and aunts very good dressmakers in their heyday and they had some lovely buttons
Ok, I'm joining the crowd here, my mom too has a jar full of every imaginable colour and shape of buttons and I still have fun going through them every now and then :) Great capture, brought out nice memories
We have some from Sara's great aunt and loads od sewing thread. There's always a colour for whatever you need to sew and they never run out. I love the button in the middle, like a great shield, but in tiny!
Fantastic collection, i would love something like this. I can imagine opening it every now and then and finding something new or going back to one thats always been your favourite.. Great shot x
Although I have seen this before somewhere! I love it, the nostalgia it brings of ones own childhood, rummaging through Grandparent's collections of bits and bobs.
Oh so lovely! There was nothing I liked more as a child than playing with the button box which had some very old and interesting buttons from my grandma and maybe even older ones than that. Thanks for reminding me of lots of wonderful memories
photo.
I used to love playing with my Mum's button jar as a kid. :memories:
Looks like you're ready for the next wave.
Those are some interesting buttons.
