Since childhood I have loved the book "Jonathan Livingston Seagull". Sheer persistance and solitude marked Jonathans life in the first part of the book. Time and again in my life the same issues have arisen. I have often identified with the sentiments expressed in those passages. As a consequence I have really enjoyed photographing gulls. This lonely shot reminded me of Jonathan.

Hi Damon, I've read the book too, many times over. I gave it to my 9 year old to read a while back hoping she would understand some of it...amazingly, she she understood everything about it. I think that this is a testament to Richard Bach's writing that the book is a truly universal read. BTW have you read "There's No Such Pace as Far Away". By Richard Bach also, written in a similar vein. Very short but worth a look.
