We went to Chasewater reservoir today to walk and explore. It was a lovely day.
There are steam trains that run around the reservoir during the spring and summer so we just looked around the station and at some of the old rusty stock in the yard.
The train engineer told us that the bucket was used to carry steel - it was huge!
Oh, this is brilliant. We saw one like this at the museum in Newcastle and there was a film about it being used. It carried molten steel at the steel works.
An inpressive vehicle which brought back memories - fav! I remember seeing one of these huge ladles loaded with molten steel being moved around at the steelworks where my dad worked.
