Spring is in the air

This is my driveway today. You are seeing Japanese Maple, dogwood and redbud. It is near noon and the shadows are harsh.

I don't know where you live but you are closer to leaves than we are. You look like spring used to look around here. This year is different. It is colder, longer and the cold goes right to our bones. The photograph is beautiful.

I'm in the Chattanooga area of Tennessee. It is still chilly here but spring is coming anyway. We have three winters here. It warms up and then gets cold again when the dogwoods bloom which is right now and then again when the blackberries bloom. They call in dogwood winter and blackberry winter.
