An impromptu performance by a young pianist at the local bookstore (Indigo, for my Canadian friends). I love how the piano is just sitting there as an invitation.
Do you remember, years ago, when Chapters first opened stores, they used to have entertainment in the stores on certain nights. They often had a pianist and I think maybe even other musicians on some nights and they had book readings sometimes. There also used to be comfortable chairs scattered around where you could sit and listen or even take down a book you were thinking of buying and give it a good look over before deciding? They made a real effort to attract people in and they were open everyday of the year except Christmas.
@gardencat Hi Joanne. Yes, I do remember all of this. I did notice today, though, that Indigo is making a real effort to get back to its original mission- selling *books* vs all that other "wellness" schlock!
