Learning to allow oneself to photograph odd or unconventional entities and items gives the mind a break from always hunting and looking for majestic scenes and subjects.
Oddball, off-the-wall things are just pure fun to capture!
Looking at photography in this light gave me a lot of my mojo back, which has been extremely irregular these past few months. Look for a great photo opportunity, endeavour to capture the scene in front of me ever so perfectly; then upload it to whatever device, still edit it, etc etc etc - I just couldn’t seem to get motivated enough to even think about all of it. I turned to my book instead for weeks on end.
The simplicity of EOTB and the Mundane challenges re-ignited my enthusiasm a great deal.
Anyway, enough chit-chat.
Let’s start EOTB-155. This challenge is about using your photographer's eye to find interest and an allure in stuff you wouldn't normally think of capturing. The challenge is to portray your subject in a way that comes across as aesthetically pleasing even though initially the item/s may not appear that way.
The main aim of this challenge is that people watching you take your photograph should ponder on why anyone would want to take a photograph of THAT. (the ‘that’ being your subject matter.)
A bit of post-processing is fine, but please go lightly with the edits - there are other challenges for processing - and it's your subject that needs to shine through.
There are only two rules which apply to this challenge:
1- the photo must be taken within the appointed time frame.
2- the photo must be taken by you.
Timeframe:
Start - April 27th 2024
End - May 31st 2024
