A trip into Newmarket under awful weather conditions
We have a weather warning from last night to tomorrow. It started with rain turning into ice pallets. the roads were all slushy and slippery. it looked like lots of people stayed home as we traveled at a time which is usually called Rush Hour.
Hans prefers highway to city driving in these kind of weather conditions. snowplows seem to clear the highway more frequently.
On the way home we took city roads as we had a few more stops to make. there were more cars on the roads and one had to look out as some drivers just don't know how to drive under these weather conditions. I bet you come across some of them in your travels.
Sorry you had to go out in this! No one here, including me, drives well on ice for lack of experience, equipment and infrastructure. The investments are meager because there may be just one icy day a year. Few snow plows, few snow tires, and no one has chains. Most of the time when we get snow, it's gone the next day.
