I've begun revisiting and processing some older images from Italy for the dadster who has requested some memories to hang on his newly blank walls. This enormous bronze statue by sculptor Igor Mitoraj, located in the Boboli Garden in Florence had captured his interest as it did mine. It's a compelling piece that to me shows a certain fragility but also a quiet strength, it is quite beautiful.
Great close-up. It almost makes the face abstract by featuring the texture of the wood (?). I like the hint of color too as if it's made out of bronze (but bronze wouldn't crackle like that.). Nice shot!
