I took this picture through our sliding doors. the house is kiddy corner across from ours.
I read the following articles on the Internet News this early afternoon.
"70 + vehicles involved, several tractor trailers. 500 lietre diesel spill
that is under control.
Two Barrie (a town North East of us) Transit busses on scene
providing warmth and shelter, York Paramedics Multi-patient emergency
support unit en route. Only minor injuries reported.
Hydro One says more than 156,000 people lost electricity in nearly
24 hours since the storm swept into the Province of Ontario, bringing
significant wind gust and even shifting ice from waterways onto the land.
A spokesman says the agency recorded maximum winds gust of 128 km
an hour in the Niagara Region, where vedeo footage shows winds blowing
large chunks of ice from the Niagara River over a retaining wall and
onto the road".
We’re not as bad of, only wind gust of about up to 78 km/hr.
When the wind subsides, the weather forecast is for colder air for the next
week or so.
